Clean Energy TV Productions:
From Writer to Producer

I have been in the publishing business long enough to remember a time when all a writer or reporter had to do was research, interview, write and turn the story over to the editor. For some in the media, this still holds true.
Yet their employers today have to evolve with the digital age -- video, multimedia and other ways of expressing ideas beyond words, phrases and sentences. I decided I had to take that path as well.
Recently, I produced two additional 1-hour clean energy documentaries: "The Challenge of Clean Energy" and "The Frontiers of Clean Energy." You'll find more information about them here with online links.
They are part of the Clean Energy Series, which started off with a story in a popular local publication.
It Began with a Magazine Article
Following the printing of my cover article, "Renewing Energy in Hawaii" in Pacific Edge Magazine, I began using my reporting and writing skills to produce the Clean Energy Series for local television.
A 1-hour documentary entitled "The Future of Clean Energy" (link below) and the Clean Energy Series episodes ran for several months, now online.

I also uploaded individual programs comprising the Clean Energy Series:
- Interview with Hawaii State Gov. Neil Abercrombie
- Interview with Henry Curtis, Executive Director, Life of the Land
- Interview with Robbie Alm, VP of Hawaiian Electric Co. (Part 1 of 2)
- Interview with Robbie Alm, VP of Hawaiian Electric Co. (Part 2 of 2)

combined into one program)
- Interview with Darren Kimura, President/CEO, Sopogy (solar)

Informing the Public About Energy Savings
One program about an energy-efficiency organization named Hawaii Energy is being rebroadcast on TV with captions for people who are hearing impaired. "Talk Story with Hawaii Energy" offers great ideas about bulbs, demonstrations and equipment for homes, condominiums, and small and big businesses.
The information will help you save money on today's high cost of electricity. You can view "Talk Story with Hawaii Energy" online, click here for the show. It has captions for people who are hearing impaired.
Below are still pictures from some of the Clean Energy Series episodes.

"Talk Story with Hawaii Energy" is part of the Clean Energy Series. The half-hour show is presented with Derrick Sonoda of Hawaii Energy who offers important information about ways to reduce electrical load and costs for electricity. He also talks about rebates, motors, pumps, controllers and ways to make such equipment less costly to operate.
